The interchangeability of being a woman and having the ability to do it all should be normalised,
Why isn’t normalised now? I wonder.
Why are people still amazed when one of us is able to shine and still have it all under control?
Why is there an expectation of us to do this and that
while still staying in our defined and constructed roots?
Why can’t we have it as easy,
why can’t we have what they have while being…
…women?
Then I realised
that we were still far away from what I thought was normal.
What I thought was a right.
What I thought was given.
Here is to a fight we have been fighting since the beginning of time,
Here is us, a beauty in disguise, a warrior with a thirst for allure.
Here is to us. Being one.
